6 Months!

It's Official!
Weighing in at 15lbs 3oz (she lost weight from being sick and starting solids) and standing at 27 3/4in tall! She is doing great! And FINALLY we can take her off of the Neocate and put her back on Nutramigen (formula)...not only is it easier to get but cheaper!
Now to the bad news.....she hasn't been sleeping at night. She goes down by 8:00 and like clockwork, between 10 -11:00 she wakes up crying...and cries for a couple hours! Dr. Rocco said she has programmed herself to this and by crying, screaming actually she knows that mom will come in to make it all better. The good Dr. suggested we stay away from the Ferber Method, and for those of you without children, the Ferber Method is when you go in to console your baby but don't pick them up and leave fairly quickly....my Dr. says it's almost cruel, like teasing the baby. Anyway, she suggests.....ugh, putting her down at night and not picking her back up til morning. Let her cry it out basically. Now I always was against "crying it out" but apparently she is at an age where it isn't "dangerous" to their psyche. I have no clue how I am going to get through tonight (yes we are starting tonight!) but Brandon assures me this needs to be done. I agree with that aspect because I have been getting maybe 4 hours of sleep a night....not good for a working mother...or any mother for that! To each their own I say, with methods of getting over this "sleep hump"....many will disagree with this but I'm hoping that this will work. Plus, this is the shortest method...hopefully it will only take the 4-7 days that the Dr. says. Please keep your fingers crossed for me....I already cried when putting her down...knowing I couldn't "make it all better" when she cries tonight.

I'll end on a better note....sweet pictures of my gorgeous 6 month old girl!!!

Bye Bye!!!!

Poor girl... Poor you. ((hugs))
Gosh that has to be so hard to just let her cry. :( I hope this works for her & that she starts to sleep through the night soon.
