See the big picture
How your baby's growing:Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts her at just over a pound. Since she's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), she cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but her body is filling out proportionally and she'll soon start to plump up. Her brain is also growing quickly now, and her taste buds are continuing to develop. Her lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help her air sacs inflate once she hits the outside world. Her skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.
I think I need to start taking these pictures before I get in my 'comfy' clothes...hahaa...I look like a bum in most of these belly pics!! :-)I had my (24 week) Dr. appt yesterday and everything was still looking good. The heartbeat was nice and strong and the baby even did a few backflips while we were there. I have my glucose test in 3 weeks, so that should be fun (insert sarcasm)! Basically all is progressing very well...I'm gaining weight, baby is gaining weight and growing...she's very active...I think she stole my energy.
Her nursery is in full swing. Brandon got the furniture put together on Easter and we have her bedding put on. We stil have stuff to move out of the room before we can get the dresser and the rocker/glider in. Once that is all done we can accessorize more!!! More shopping!
Tomorrow we are going to register, so that will be nice to get started. Thankfully my friend Abbey is coming with me...hopefully I won't be in BRU all day and confused then! Cheers...to a beautiful weekend!!!
